The Blue Boar is our family's favourite for a quick midweek meal or a special celebration. We've been five times now, including once as a large group spanning four generations, and everyone enjoyed their food. The menu has lots of variety, and the food is fresh, made with high quality ingredients, and beautifully presented. The standards stay high and reliable even when it's full. The staff are attentive and acknowledge you as soon as you walk in. Even when they're busy, they look over and smile, which makes the place feel welcoming. The restaurant is beautifully set, and it and the toilets are spotless. We haven't stayed overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms, though I'd be happy to recommend the place based on what I've seen and experienced. Looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch next.

We were given the disabled room on the ground floor by the entrance and car park, so access was easy even for someone using a wheelchair. It had a lovely, roomy wet room that could accommodate a wheelchair. For dinner, request a table on the lower level if needed, as there are two small steps up to the main restaurant, but the lower area is just as pleasant. If you're on a motorbike, the car park is excellent: tarmac, easy to get into, with only a slight incline and no obstacles. Dinner gets very busy, so booking a table is a good idea. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The staff team had a mix of ages, worked hard, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. They were helpful and did their best to accommodate requests.

We booked the three-course lunch for four, with a glass of prosecco. The food was lovely, tasty, and well presented, and there was no rush between courses. The building and restaurant are attractive, and the dining tables are beautifully laid. Pleasant staff, too. They balance ambience, service, and good food really well. Glad we found it, and we'll definitely return.

It's a historic building with lots of character, in a lovely location, and only a 10-minute drive into Stratford. Our room was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable bed and shower. The food and drink were great, and the staff were very attentive. The EV charger in the car park was a bonus.

The Blue Boar exceeded our expectations, and we'll be going back soon. We visited on 23/4/26 with a Groupon voucher and had the three-course meal, which I'd highly recommend. The pub is full of character, and we sat in the Conservatory on a chilly but sunny day. Ashton looked after us and was lovely and very attentive. We both chose the Samosa to start. Its presentation looked Mitchelin style, and it was mind blowing. The main and dessert were just as good and beautifully presented. Highly recommend. Thank you.
