Auchenheglish Lodges - 7 Lomond Castle

We had such a peaceful weekend here and will definitely come back. The cabins are spaced well apart, so there’s plenty of privacy, and breakfast with a view straight over the loch was a lovely way to start the day. Inside, the accommodation is modern with lots of storage, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with a few basics in the fridge. Wendy met us at reception and showed us to our cabin. She was pleasant and helpful. My only change next time would be to bring my own pillow, as these were chunkier and firmer than I like.

The scenery and the penthouse were both out of this world. We stayed for three days at The Penthouse at Lomond Castle (no 9) through Auchenheglish, with two adults and two children. It felt like an unbelievable, really luxurious stay, and there was plenty for the kids to do, including the private beach. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve stayed at Ferrypoint East twice and I’ll be back. From the front gate you can get straight onto the water, which is great for paddleboarding. The house is stunning, with views across the water that seem to change hour by hour. There’s decking at the side with a table and chairs, perfect for watching the sunset or having a BBQ. Loch Lomond is only a few miles away, and Helensburgh has lovely bars and restaurants to choose from. Such a beautiful spot, highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here before and would go back in a flash. The waterfront houses have amazing morning views and are great for fishing, with boat mooring available too. Everything is exceptionally clean and finished to a high standard, and the places feel cosy and comfortable, with all the amenities you could need. It’s a home away from home, five stars every time. Loch lomond is especially beautiful in autumn and winter, with incredible colours and morning skies. Every visit has been a delight.
