Almondsbury Interchange Hotel

The food was really poor, especially breakfast, though the pub next door serves some lovely dishes. For a work stay it’s probably fine: the rooms are okay, the showers decent, the temperature is easy to adjust, and the beds are fairly comfortable. A lot of the TV channels don’t work, and the cleaning could be better. Staff are usually friendly and helpful, but there don’t seem to be enough of them. Receptionists end up covering the bar and even housekeeping, which affects the service through no fault of their own. It’s alright for somewhere to sleep, but there’s plenty to improve.

Some of the reviews here seem a bit harsh to me. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is only £3.50 a day, which is less than many hotels charge. It’s a good cheap stop on the edge of Bristol or a place to break up a journey. I can’t speak to the food, since I don’t usually eat dinner beside the motorway.

I booked at the last minute for one night on 1st December. The room was spacious, clean and had a very comfortable bed. The blackout curtains and decent windows kept it dark and quiet, and I was glad to find an iron and ironing board as well as a large shower. Staff were attentive and friendly, with a good sense of humour. Parking costs £3.00, and Google Maps sent me to a different hotel several miles away, which are small gripes. It’s a good quality, well-priced hotel and I’d recommend it.

We had a really nice stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and everyone gave us a warm, friendly welcome. Our evening meal was lovely, with generous portions, and breakfast had a good selection and was tasty too. Since it was our anniversary, we were upgraded and got a free drink with dinner.
