We were shown up to the recently refurbished "Harry Hotspur" room, which was very spacious and had a super comfortable bed. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and seemed genuinely happy we'd chosen to stay. After a brief introduction from the lovely woman at the bar, we parked out back and one of the staff escorted us to the room. They were clearly proud of the place. We took a walk around beautiful Alnwick in the late afternoon, then came back for drinks. We're from Australia and didn't know the local beers, so we asked the bartender what she'd recommend. She suggested "Cruzcampo", and four people at the bar agreed. After that, it was our go-to whenever it was on tap. I was particularly impressed by the "especially good VALUE" price tags on the taps. My wife and I stayed a night at The Queens head Hotel in Alnwick on a recent UK trip, on the way to Edinburgh, and weren't disappointed. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and for the generous hospitality. If we ever do that 20-plus-hour flight from Melbourne to the UK again, we'll be back!

There isn't food or breakfast here, but there are some lovely restaurants and cafes right outside in the market square. The location is perfect, right in the town centre, and the newly renovated rooms are beautiful, with a lovely bath and super comfy beds. The carport has only three spaces, and they're on the steep part of the car park. It wasn't great when it was icy. The place gets very busy in the evening, and you can hear the karaoke from the bedrooms. Earplugs are provided in the rooms.

The bar staff were amazing, and even the locals, including Gordon, were great entertainment. From arriving to leaving, the place was friendly and clean, with great entertainment. I had a night away with my fiancee Amanda and can't fault the place. Highly recommend it to everyone.

We had a wonderful time in the refurbished rooms, and everything was lovely. You can hear what's happening in the pub, but neither of us had trouble falling asleep, even without earplugs.
