The house has two nice places to relax, one by the fireplace and another with a TV, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a separate fridge for wine and drinks. Most of the beds were comfortable, though one small double creaked quite a bit whenever someone got in or out. A couple of practical things to know: some of the games seemed to have mixed-up pieces, and the playing cards we tried had only 45 cards, so you may want to bring your own. Also, the fireplace surround is very close to the hall door and has a sharp square corner sticking out. I caught myself on it and it hurt, so with young children around, make sure the door is fully open and consider making that corner more noticeable. It’s a lovely place in a beautiful setting, and we’d definitely stay again.

There’s loads of room for a big group, and the games room was a great extra. You can walk off road into Hawkshead, and Beatrix Potter's Home - National trust is a short drive or walk away. The stream at the bottom of the garden was stunning.

The views are lovely and the rooms are spacious, though a few basics were missing, like a chopping board. Several windows either wouldn’t open or were too heavy to manage. Still, it’s a wonderful house for a holiday. Thank you!

Such beautiful accommodation, with stunning grounds around it. A great fit for a large group of friends or family.

The house is beautiful and the location is great. I’d have given it five stars if the garden had been secure for my dog.
