We stayed for three nights in June and loved it. The country house is in a beautiful area, with plenty of walks, restaurants and places for afternoon tea. Breakfast each morning had lots of choice, and Dee was happy to help with anything. Our deluxe room was great too, and the decanter of whisky was a lovely extra. We’ll definitely return.

We came back from four nights at West Vale County House full of praise. Glynn and Dee were lovely hosts, always happy to help, and our room was clean, very comfortable and had wonderful views. There was a bottle of water and a decanter of sherry each day, which has started us on a growing pre-dinner habit! Breakfast was wonderful, with something for every taste, and kept us going until mid or late afternoon. We only went out for dinner once, at The Cuckoo Brow Inn, a two-minute stroll away. On the other evenings we had Glynn’s excellent platters and sandwiches. It was a truly relaxing stay, and we’ll certainly be back.

We had a really lovely weekend at west vale. The service from Dee and Glynn was second to none, and breakfast was to die for. From our room we had fabulous views over the surrounding countryside, and woke up to baby lambs jumping about in the next field. We’d recommend staying here for a countryside retreat, and will be back soon.

I surprised my wife with a stay at West Vale for her 60th birthday, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The location was picture perfect and very restful, and the house and rooms were immaculate with a friendly atmosphere. Glynn and Dee were wonderful hosts, helping us plan our days out and never making us feel that anything was too much trouble. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the cares of the world. Excellent.

The warm, kind-hearted team at West Vale Country House made our weekend getaway complete. Glynn and Dee were wonderful hosts. The accommodation was immaculate and more than earned its five stars. It’s a peaceful, tranquil spot in the heart of the Lake District, with fantastic restaurants within walking distance. Coniston, Ambelside and Windermere are popular towns a short drive or ferry ride away. Great place, accommodation and hosts.
