That little stone circle was cool, but the Sunday roast wasn’t worth it. We went to Stonehenge Inn and Carvery after seeing their claim of two Sunday carveries for £25. On arrival, we were told the food came from the kitchen, with no carvery, and the price wasn’t £25 for two. We stayed anyway, though we shouldn’t have, since the place was nearly empty. The food seemed and tasted like it had been sitting around all day. The sauces needed stirring, the vegetables were very hot but very dry, and the meat glistened. The Yorkshire pudding was really nice. At £15 per non-carvery Sunday roast, go somewhere else, folks!

On the surface it’s a great venue, and I’ve been coming for years, but the toilets and the area around them wouldn’t pass a health and safety inspection. £7.50 a pint also feels steep for the location. The listed opening times seem to be only a guide. If they reach the nightly quota, they call last orders and shut within 15 minutes, no matter how much you’ve spent or what drinks you just ordered. I wrote this at 2230 after being asked to leave. Long-term customers are now looking for somewhere else.

A lovely surprise, and I’d recommend a visit. The staff were so friendly, and the food was affordable and came quickly. They even gave all four kids a Christmas chocolate selection box because the play bus was temporarily closed. There’s a good range of hot drinks with free refills, and meals over £10 come with complimentary salad from a proper salad bar, not just a bowl of leaves. Kids can play on the mini Stonehenge outside, and there’s free parking across the road. I didn’t have coins for the wishing well, so the guy behind the bar gave the kids 3 coins to make a wish. Such a thoughtful touch! 🥰

A handy little stop after Stonehenge, with good parking and a nice seating area. The food was decent, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. A great place to take stock of the Stones.

We had a lovely stay in the family room. It was spacious, clean, and budget-friendly, and the bathroom was large and tidy too. You might sometimes smell food through the windows, which makes sense with a pub downstairs. The building isn’t new, and you can feel its historic charm, with English traditional touches and some modern comfort. The owner may be able to tell you exactly how old it is. Some people may not like the interior or atmosphere, but we personally enjoyed it. There’s no breakfast included, though coffee is available in the room anytime. If you know that ahead of time, you can bring croissants or find a nearby place for breakfast. We especially loved the double-decker bus turned into a soft play area. My toddler didn’t want to leave. I’ve read the different reviews and understand everyone has their own perspective. Come with a positive mindset and you’re likely to have a lovely stay.
