The area is lovely, though there isn't much you can walk to and you'll need a short drive for amenities. Still, it's hard to imagine leaving after just two nights. I'm one night into my stay and already thinking about making it three. The hotel has been renovated with real care, from the quality fittings to the little details in the rooms. Everyone has been friendly and attentive, and breakfast is freshly cooked. The coffee is fantastic too. The Murray family clearly know hotels, and their sister property, The Dowans in Aberlour, is very good as well.

I booked at the last minute while touring by bike, and the staff were incredibly accommodating, even though I probably wasn't their usual sort of guest. The room was beautiful, and dinner at the restaurant may have been the best meal I had in Scotland.

We came to celebrate with dinner while staying nearby and found a set menu in Archie’s bar. The meal was stunning, the service was great, and the venison was outstanding. The whisky baba and port granita with poached plums had a very generous amount of alcohol. It would be useful to have a dessert option for people who don't drink.

We only stopped by the bar for cocktails and food, but it made for a really enjoyable evening and I'd happily do it again. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious and cooked just right. My only complaint is that the portions felt a little small. I could easily have eaten more.

We were delighted with dinner. Both the fish and the venison burger were cooked perfectly, and we loved the sides too. The food was delicious and the service was great, so we couldn't have been happier with our visit.
