The open-plan lounge, dining area and kitchen made it easy for everyone to spend time together, and we had lovely views from the back, especially from the kitchen and the double and king-size bedrooms. The garden is spacious, though we didn't use it on this holiday. Milton cottage was roomy, lovely and clean when we arrived, with all the beds made. The directions and information left for us were very helpful. We made good use of the washing machine, oven, dryer, fridge and freezer, and there were handy supplies like washing powder and loo rolls. The dishwasher wasn't working during our stay. There are a few advertised DVDs and games, but not many DVDs, and most of the games were missing pieces. I ended up making extra Monopoly money so we could play. The WiFi was very unreliable, even with the booster close to the lounge, which might bother some guests since WiFi is advertised. The nearby pub was shut for refurbishment, which was a shame as it was one reason we chose the cottage and only a couple of seconds up the road. The village itself is quiet and lovely, with beautiful walks nearby. The post office is essentially a conservatory added to the back of someone's house, run by a lovely lady, and it has a few basics such as milk and bread. We had a lovely stay and I'd recommend the cottage.

The building and its design are lovely, and the site is peaceful, with an excellent layout and a great first impression. But there are things that need attention. Upstairs, the floors creak and squeak badly, and the hot tap on the downstairs bath needs tightening or its flexible feed could start leaking. The cupboards need cleaning inside and some repair. There was dust everywhere, particularly on the glasses and plates in the cabinet. The front row looked recently used and was clean, but about half the pots and pans had a layer of dust on them. The smart TV is impressive, but the internet setup is the poorest I've come across. The router is far from the shared areas, where there's no signal, and the powerline repeater is nearly useless. The signal is fine if you stay in the router's room. Extending the phone line into the sitting room and moving the router would let the TV make better use of its features. It's a lovely place with a great building and peaceful location, but cleaning, repairs and WiFi need work. I'd still recommend visiting, as long as you're prepared for those flaws.

A very good cottage with great facilities, and it can sleep up to eight people.

Brilliant cottage, and there are some great places to visit nearby.

A nice, tidy place with a cool view in the background. We had to make do with the showers.
