We booked a night away together, close to home, and the big snowfall came on the very day we were due to stay. We still made it. With the cold weather, we decided to stay in, since the main thing was a romantic night together. The staff were so helpful, the room was perfect, and we really enjoyed both the food and drinks. I'd like to come back in summer, perhaps go out in Ashby in the evening and explore more. Thank you.

We called at the last minute to ask for a table and they fitted us in happily. The food and service were excellent. Megan looked after us with real warmth and professionalism, and was happy to help with anything. We'd definitely recommend it.

The food was great, and the welcome at dinner this week was lovely. The staff were fantastic, friendly and gave great service. It's not a local pub for me, but I'll make the effort to come back. Definitely recommend.

I was looking forward to my rump steak, but it came out dry, burnt and overcooked, even though I'd ordered it medium rare. When I raised it with the young waitress, she asked if I wanted the dessert menu. Very disappointing.

We had our wedding meal in the back room for 100 guests, with starters followed by a carvery set up just for our party. The food was amazing and the value was brilliant. Zoe took time to meet us beforehand and listened to everything we wanted. She and the staff set everything up, including the seat covers and bows, which made the day before the wedding stress-free. Everyone working on the day was friendly and brilliant. They made our wedding day special. 100% recommend for any occasion.
