Plumpton Barn

The gentleman who checked us in was incredibly kind and helpful, and made us feel welcome. We all slept very well. The setting and views are beautiful, and we spotted a hare in the fields while having a delicious breakfast. My mum and gran really enjoyed the stay too. If we travel up this way again, we’ll definitely come back. Highly recommend!

It was a very hot day, and the windows were locked. There was no fan or chilled water, and the shared bathroom had no hand towels or toilet roll holder. We had to pay before we’d even seen the rooms, and there were no fire doors. We couldn’t stay the night. It felt like being in a torture chamber.

This is an affordable place to stay, with good parking and nice views, conveniently close to the M20 if you’re travelling to or from Dover. I had a problem with my van, and the owner Tony was great: he brought extension leads and kept me company while it was being fixed. He was understanding when that took into the afternoon and didn’t pressure me to leave the room. Thanks, Tony. I’ll definitely be back.

The countryside view from our room was lovely. We came to visit the Zoo and stayed here, where the host was helpful and friendly. Breakfast tasted great too, so we had a really good stay.
