Aviemore Youth Hostel

We had a private twin room and really couldn't grumble. Everything was spotless, from the room and bedding to the showers and toilets. Whoever runs this hostel is really on the ball.

A lovely living area, very comfortable beds and clean toilets. The staff were friendly, and the kitchen had a good stock of all sorts of cutlery. Excellent hostel.

The lounge, kitchen, reception and meeting area were welcoming and well stocked. We stayed three nights in a room for four, though only two of us slept there. It was sparse but functional for two to four people, and having a sink in the room was a plus. The beds and bedding were comfortable, with two pillows each instead of the usual single flat one. I'd stay again, though some shared areas, including the bathroom, needed more cleaning and repairs. Breakfast costs extra, nearly £6 per day, and for that you only get cereal and juice.

I stayed two nights while going snowboarding up the mountain and was impressed by how clean the place was and by its facilities. The shared kitchen and living areas are brilliant. I'd definitely recommend it.
