The night staff were helpful and kind. They let us sit and chat in the lounge as long as we wanted, and offered coffee when it was chilly there because the heaters weren’t working. Earlier, though, the reception staff didn’t make us feel welcome, and one woman was very rude. She deliberately put our group in rooms on different floors. A friend’s order was recorded incorrectly and charged twice, with no apology. Later, we paid for pizza for the children, who were very hungry, then waited after being told it would take an hour. When we checked back, the same woman from reception said the chef would start preparing it, but nothing happened. Because of the poor handling and staff behaviour, we cancelled and had to find food elsewhere. I don’t recommend this hotel, particularly because of the female staff members’ rudeness.

The area was quiet and pleasant, and our room was very clean. Everyone we spoke with was kind. We had an early event, so Callum at reception arranged for us to get breakfast before 7 am, which we really appreciated. We had a great overnight stay.

The bed was hard and creaky, which wasn’t the usual Premier Inn standard. The room smelled nice, but it wasn’t especially clean, with tissues and other things on the floor. It was boiling inside and there was no window to open, so the room felt stuffy. Check-in and bar service were slow. The hotel is on Aviemore’s outskirts and has parking. It’s free for guests, but non-guests can pay and display, so by evening it was quite difficult to find a space. You know what to expect from a Premier Inn, but this one was a bit of a letdown.

Lorraine gave us excellent service, and the chef, Kurt, cooked fantastic food. Dinner was hot, tasty and well priced. Our boys, aged 8 and 5, finished their meals and enjoyed dessert. The room was clean and comfortable, just right for our young family’s short stay at the Aviemore Premier Inn. We had a really lovely visit and would happily return.

The £57 parking charge felt excessive and wasn’t clearly explained when I used the electric vehicle charging point. There was nothing obvious to show that parking had to be paid for separately from charging. If customers are charged for both, there should be clear signs right at the charging station. As it is, the separate parking fee is easy to miss and feels unfair.
