The Park Guest House

We picked this lovely hotel at random for our anniversary and found it very modern, with everything looking brand new. Access was simple, just an email with a room code, so there was no waiting at reception for a key. Our king bed was super comfortable, and they’d left tea, coffee, hot chocolate and welcome biscuits. The shower pressure wasn’t great, but apart from that we’d absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in Aviemore.

I’m working away from home and was tired of Premier inn’s, especially when they wanted £200 a night. This place was much more reasonably priced and about fair for what it cost. The room was clean, a decent size and up to a good standard, though the bathroom felt a bit worn. Delaneys downstairs is excellent and reasonably priced, and there was plenty of hot drink supplies, which kept me happy.

The breakfasts were delicious and filling, and parking was plentiful. The Park Guest House was one of our favourite places on our Highlands trip, with a cosy feel throughout and a fairly spacious room. It’s in a convenient spot, though the nearby pub can make things quite noisy late at night.

The room was quite minimal, with big mirrored wardrobe doors facing the bed, which I didn’t like, especially as the room wasn’t very large. There wasn’t much provided: no bottled water, tissues or biscuits for the tea and coffee. Breakfast felt a bit rationed too. They’d stopped serving scrambled eggs because they said eggs were in short supply and it used too many. We were the only couple there for a while, and the fire wasn’t lit until more guests arrived a day or two later, which made it feel as though they didn’t want to heat the place for just two people. It was nice enough, but I think they were aiming for a Premier Inn look.
