The lovely breakfasts and Patricia’s warmth made our stay special. The place has a storybook feel, like stepping into Greene Knowe or meeting your fairy godmother, and it’s a real slice of old England. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to visit again. If you’re after a standard hotel, this probably isn’t for you. Highly recommended.

We felt welcome and at ease thanks to our helpful host, and breakfast was fabulous. The Georgian house and its garden are lovely too.

The garden was gorgeous, the house full of history, and everything was spotless. Patricia made us feel at home and nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. Axbridge’s historic centre is close by, with a great pub called The Lamb. It’s a lovely spot for a relaxing long weekend or short break in a town with plenty of history. We’d happily recommend Compton House.

Patricia was a charming hostess, and we had a special time at Compton House. The home-cooked breakfast was outstanding, and the accommodation was excellent. It’s set in a pleasant spot with an attractive garden and views over the countryside, while Axbridge’s historic town square is only a few minutes away. There’s easy access to the amenities around the area too. The Georgian house was originally owned by the renowned Fry family.

What a great find. Patricia made our stay fabulous, and breakfast came with a delicious spread of local produce. The rooms are beautiful, and so is the house. Highly recommend.
