Bay Lodge

I've stayed in a lot of guest houses, and bay lodge is one of the best. The rooms are a good size, the beds are comfortable, and the place is well looked after, clean, and tidy. The ladies who run it are always helpful when you need something. I'll be back. Thank you.

The place was clean and tidy, and the owner was very nice. But I was visiting my partner and little one, and it was a hot day, so I wanted to bring the little one somewhere shaded and cool. My partner and child weren't staying that first night, but the owner seemed to have a big problem with it. I've brought my little one to other B and Bs before without an issue. It was otherwise a nice, clean place, but I don't think it's right for a young couple.

There isn't a front desk here, so be aware of that. I tried booking directly because I thought it'd be cheaper, but the website only lets you send an enquiry. The woman managing the rooms wasn't in touch with the business partner handling web bookings. I even paid in advance to secure a room, but when I arrived, there wasn't one for me. At least the woman had already returned my booking fee in cash. I wouldn't book direct.

Quiet and peaceful, and good value. The rooms feel homely, are well cared for and clean, and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean too. The owner was lovely.
