I stayed in one of the en-suite rooms in a short row of wooden chalets. It was clean and comfortable, with a TV and facilities for making drinks; breakfast was served at the table and was good. The lovely, extensive gardens and plenty of parking were a bonus, and the staff were friendly. The property is a riding stables beside a busy main road, though the rooms are beyond a large riding rink. I could hear a little traffic, but found it acceptable. You enter through a five-bar wooden gate and follow the driveway. There are rooms in the main house too, but I didn't see them. I'd use the place again.

The owner made me feel very welcome when I stayed in the main house. It's quite different from the big chain hotels I usually use for coaching and training work around the UK. I had a quiet, comfortable night's sleep and would happily stay again if work brings me back to the area. I'd highly recommend it.

My father has ME, so he booked this B&B months ahead for the night before the British GP. Although he doesn't live far away, he wanted an easy trip to the circuit in the morning and to make the most of the day my brother had bought him as a gift. Months after the booking, the proprietors called to raise the price because they'd failed to realise it was GP weekend. Their mistake, but they implied he'd lose the booking if he didn't pay extra. The room was dated and in poor shape, and the house was noisy, with creaky doors and barking dogs, so he slept badly. It was listed as en-suite, but wasn't; he had to share the bathroom with the homeowner. They were also given poor travel advice and told to leave at 7am because of traffic. Breakfast was served at 7:30, and there was no alternative or offer of an earlier meal despite the extra room cost. In reality, the drive to the circuit took only 20 minutes. The place is also hard to spot from the road. A very poor B&B, and I wouldn't recommend it. The website is shabby too, with poor pictures and directions and broken links. That's especially poor for a site that also offers web design services. It sums the place up.

The owners were really friendly and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. It's a comfortable place with more facilities than an IBIS or Premier Lodge, set in lovely surroundings at a working stables. I'll definitely book again next time I'm working in MK. Very impressed!

The host was pleasant and I slept well. The room did smell a bit musty, though.
