I was booked for 3 nights for work in the area, then ferry problems meant I had to stay longer. The cooked breakfast and evening meal were both so good that I ended up having the same ones every day. The food and pints went down well, whether I was at the bar or in front of the fire. Internet was good for a rural island, thanks to Starlink. If work brings us back to the island, we'll stay here again.

We hadn't planned on staying on Islay, but we're so glad we got to experience The Bridgend, the island, and its local hospitality. The room was a good size, with a comfortable king bed, and the hot water and pressure were excellent. The restaurant food was outstanding. The huge Full Scottish breakfast was tasty and included with the room. So far we've had haddock, sea bass, cheese macaroni, and risotto for dinner, all excellent and full of flavor. We got stranded by Storm Amy (Oct. 2025) while visiting Ardbeg Distillery, which also has awesome customer service. Their staff called Iain, the manager, and he immediately found us a room for the night. He also called our hotel in Tarbert on the mainland, told them we wouldn't arrive, and arranged for them to pack our room and store our luggage for free. He checked us in quickly even though I didn't have my passport, and apologized that the ferry service hadn't told us the sailings back to the mainland were cancelled when we boarded originally. When we learned the ferry couldn't guarantee us a spot before Monday evening, Iain called guests to check who was coming and extended our stay in the same room within 20 minutes. He even said he'd call the local ferry service the next day to see if he could get us onto an earlier ferry. The local staff also gave us great advice about getting around, things to do and avoid, and roads flooded after the storm. They clearly care about giving guests an outstanding experience. The power went out about an hour after we ordered room service on the first storm night. Within 20 minutes, two staff members came by to check we were okay and apologize that they might not be able to prepare dinner later that evening, which was due in about two hours. Power came back within an hour, and to our surprise and delight, Iain delivered the food himself within five minutes of the scheduled time. I would absolutely stay here again, and it will be our first choice when we return to Islay.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the buffet breakfast was very good. It's nicely located about halfway between the two ferry ports. There's a pleasant pub and a good restaurant at this nice hotel. Internet was okay, though it sometimes dropped because the connection is by satellite.

The menu had a fantastic range, and the food lived up to it. The kids' menu was very good too, with good quality portions. Service was friendly and attentive. This was our first visit since it opened, but it won't be our last. Definitely worth trying.

The location made Bridgeend a lovely place to unwind and get away from the mainland. There's parking on the property, though no electric vehicle charger, and charging ports are available around the area. The restaurant and bar have a rich selection menu. I found the hotel thoughtfully laid out and well maintained, with decor details that made it a pleasant place to relax after exploring. Housekeeping kept the room fresh, and the kind, attentive staff were always ready to help. Their professionalism added to the welcoming atmosphere. A wonderful stay, thank you!
