The Malt House

I stayed for a week and felt right at home, and then some. The owners are polite and caring, and seem to know exactly what a guest needs. The room was clean, spacious and luxurious, with tasteful decor. A friendly cat wandered around the garden. The amenities felt like those of a five-star hotel, at half the price. Room service was perfect, the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, and fresh milk, coffee and tea were provided every day. There was also an iron and ironing board, a kettle, power by the bed, cutlery and crockery. Highly recommended. Bravo!

Arie made us feel wonderfully welcome in this beautiful home from home. The room was really clean, with a large, super-comfortable bed, and the mini fridge was stocked with lovely treats. The bathroom had thoughtful extras too, including bathrobes, slippers and lovely-smelling toiletries. I left feeling cared for and comfortable, just right for a night away with someone you love and want to pamper.

Check-in was flexible thanks to the self check-in, so you can arrive pretty much whenever. Arden was easy to contact, sent booking confirmation emails, and texted the day before with the gate code and other useful details. The gated drive can be hard to spot at night, but once you find it, it's straightforward. The building is lovely, the rooms are a nice size, and cereal was provided for the first morning. There are three shared bathrooms, so you have to leave your room at night, but I never had to wait in the morning. It's an easy ten-minute walk into town, where there are lots of pubs and good places to eat. There's a list in the room. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

I rarely write reviews, but The Malthouse made me want to take the time. The place is beautiful, with excellent amenities and a really warm, welcoming feel. I didn't go without anything during my stay, and I'm sure they would have helped if I needed something. The property and my room were both very clean and secure, and the whole stay was relaxing.
