The woman at the bar made our group feel so welcome, and the service was great from the moment we arrived. There were six of us, coming by train for a pub lunch during a hiking day. Lovely food too. I’d happily recommend a weekend lunch here.

The Landlord knew a lot about the local area, and the food was delicious. We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch.

For my money, the Sunday roast here is the best around.

I always enjoy visiting this pub. This time we had fish and chips twice, plus ham, egg and chips. Both meals were delicious, with homemade tartare sauce and home-cooked ham.

After a long walk through Chiltern Hills, this was just the sort of place we needed. The kind atmosphere, lovely service from Cynthia, and food by chef El made for a brilliant stop. We didn’t regret coming in at all.
