We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and the food and staff were equally excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pool was a hit with the kids, and there's plenty of parking in a great location. Our room was clean, spacious and had room for our two little ones to crawl and run about. The beds were very comfortable, even the pull-out sofa, and the large bathroom had a separate shower and bath. My better half enjoyed a soak after a busy holiday. A gorgeous hotel, and a perfect stay for our small family. I'd recommend it to anybody.

The sea view was lovely, and we really enjoyed our lunch. I had the vegetable flatbread, while my husband chose the fish finger sandwich, then we had nice coffee and scones. The staff were polite and attentive, and because we'd booked ahead, we were seated without a wait. There were good light bite and lunch choices, plus afternoon tea. It was fairly quiet when we arrived but busy by the time we left. Nice atmosphere.

Fairfield House Hotel was well placed for the beach and children's play area, with shops, bars and restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. We stayed two nights and were very comfortable. The pool and sauna were great too. We'd only booked a Classic Double, room 25, which had no real view, but the bedroom was large, clean and had everything we needed. The spacious bathroom had a clean jacuzzi bath, a separate shower and plenty of shower gels. To our surprise, another door led into a lounge with a sofa and a large telly. Excellent for the price. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and I can thoroughly recommend it.

The setting was comfy and quite plush, with a lovely view out to sea. We had bottomless tea alongside a load of tasty food, and I'll definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely afternoon with friends. It started with a small cup of hot soup and hot sausage rolls, then a wee brioche bun with smoked salmon and plenty of sandwiches. We also got two small scones each, one fruit and one plain, with skooshy cream and jam. To finish, there was a lovely selection of decadent, very sweet treats. Wow!

Breakfast had plenty of options, both hot dishes and a cold buffet, and the evening meals were tasty with large portions. The haggis tower was especially good. The hotel was very clean throughout, and our first room was large and comfortable too. Our first night was noisy because building work was going on. We told a lovely, helpful and supportive female receptionist, while the two men were slightly dour. She apologised profusely and arranged for us to move to the Carnegie Suite, which we hadn't known about. It was a dream: a four-poster bed with great mattress and bedding, a two-person jacuzzi bath, two sinks and a big shower. We both slept much better, even with my partner snoring loudly in my ear. Massive thanks to her, and sorry I didn't get her name. There's no lift, so phone ahead if you have mobility issues. Without transport, we found the hotel about a 20-minute slow walk from the train station. All in all, we have only good things to say and would stay again. Thank you.
