I paid £13 for a meal and found a hair in it halfway through. That completely put me off and spoiled the meal. I was already uncomfortable after seeing the chef in the pub area with a pint shortly before our food was made, and I hadn’t noticed anyone wearing gloves or a hair net in the kitchen. For that price, basic hygiene should be the minimum. My friend and I didn’t feel able to keep eating, and what should have been a nice visit was ruined. I won’t be coming back.

The room had everything we needed, and the bed was super comfy. It was lovely and quiet, so we slept really well. We stayed on New Year’s Eve, and the bar had a fantastic atmosphere, with friendly, helpful staff. The food was lovely and the portions were big. Tony, the manager, is fantastic. We’ll definitely return.

The portions were so big I couldn’t finish my plate, and the prices were good. We’d popped in for a couple of drinks and some food. I get the feeling this place is taking a hit from the nearby Spoons, so please support them if you’re passing.

A nice local pub to drop into, though on the handful of times I’ve visited they haven’t had any Prosecco. That means they can’t make some of the drinks they advertise. They also often close earlier than their advertised time.

Disgraceful place. There was no heating or hot water, no kettle, and no towels until I asked for them. They only told me about the water 20 minutes after I’d checked in.
