Premier Inn Bagshot

The room only gets four stars from me because for two guests, we’d rather have two seats than one hard dining chair. I’d book the hotel again for a good night’s sleep, but I wouldn’t bother with breakfast. We were told the hob was broken, which limited the choice, and everything else was grilled. The hash browns needed watching or they burned; the sausages were very overcooked and nearly burnt, and the bacon rashers were only half rashers. The veggie sausages tasted very perfumed. The beans portion was tiny, though that’s just my personal view. The toaster barely worked, the jams were apricot and blackcurrant, and halfway through service the coffee machine packed up. Everything was unlimited, but the quality meant you wouldn’t want more. Breakfast was below average.

We stayed one night on Saturday 24th January. The bed was as good as usual and the room was a reasonable size, but on Sunday morning there was no hot water for a shower, not even warm water. The basin tap was the same, so we left early to find a hot shower elsewhere. I told reception on the way out, before checking out, and they said they’d check the boiler. There was no offer of compensation or anything else. I complained to Premier Inn customer service and got nothing there either. They said we’d only told them after checking out, but that’s not true.

The rooms are nice and reception was very helpful, but there’s no air con or elevators. The bar shuts at 10 pm. Staff were quite offhand when we said we’d just bought drinks, and wouldn’t let us stay in the bar to finish them.

This was our family’s second stay in Bagshot. The location works really well, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Everyone on staff was friendly. We were especially impressed that the Beafeater restaurant handled our specific food allergies so well, with the serving staff going above and beyond to make sure we were looked after.
