I’ve been here a few times over the last several years and it’s reliably good. The food is decent, well priced, and comes in big portions. The surrounding village is lovely for a stroll after dinner.

We had a holiday here in August, so apologies this review is late. The staff were lovely, and the portions were generous. I had fish and chips with crisp batter, fresh fish and cracking chips. I asked for a little boat of gravy on the side, and that was lovely too, clearly made with care. The food was exceptional. I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area.
We’ve been several times while staying in the area and always enjoy the George. The Sunday dinner was amazing, and the ales were great. It has a cosy, relaxing feel that we love. Highly recommend 👍
We kept coming back because we loved the friendly place and the hearty, home-cooked food with massive portions. The Yorkshire Pudding meal, curry and fish and chips are all worth trying.
We only came for Sunday lunch and didn’t stay at the hotel. Service was okay, but the meal was disappointing. The portions were huge and the vegetables were fresh and hot, but the beef was dry and tough. The parsnips were dry too, and both the gravy and mash were lumpy. At £16.95 each, I wouldn’t recommend it or return.
