The Stranded Hotel

I booked through Booking.com well ahead, on November 21, for December 14 and 15, and the full payment was taken on December 8. The next day, the hotel sent me an abrupt, impersonal message directly on my phone telling me to cancel and find somewhere else. Booking.com never sent an official cancellation notice. When I asked why, I got an unprofessional lecture about my “responsibilities” as a guest instead of a clear explanation. It seemed like an attempt to shift blame for their poor coordination with Booking.com. As a woman travelling alone, I found the lack of empathy and accountability very stressful, and had to scramble for other arrangements at the last minute. The hotel was rude and dismissive in handling the situation. Booking a month ahead should give you peace of mind, not leave you in chaos. I strongly advise caution, especially if booking through Booking.com.

The owner was attentive and dealt with a small bed issue straight away, and nothing was too much trouble. Our twin room and the rest of the hotel were very clean and tidy, with modern decor. It would be better if breakfast were served there. A small detail to sort out in the room: the kettle wasn’t by a plug, so I had to put it on the floor.

Check-in and check-out were easy, and the place was clean, tidy, and nicely presented. The beds were comfortable, the bedding and towels were clean, and there was a wall-mounted TV. I’d stay at the Stranded again, though Blackpool wasn’t for us because it’s so expensive everywhere you go. We spent over £1,000 in just 2 1/2 days.

The rooms were all beautifully decorated and really clean. We booked two family rooms and a double, and every one was finished to the same high standard. The staff went out of their way to help us, and we had a fabulous stay. Thanks to everyone at The Stranded Hotel , Blackpool. We’ll definitely return.
