The Sunday roast was delicious, especially the succulent beef with honey glazed cabbage, roasted potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and rich gravy. The generous bowl of cauliflower cheese was for sharing, and there was nothing to fault in the food's look, taste, or quantity. Our vegetarian guest was well catered for too, and the menu also had plenty beyond the roasts, from steak and chips to freshly made burgers. We'd stopped at the Ashford Arms for lunch halfway through a Peak District walk, with our dogs. The recently refurbished pub felt fresh, warm, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of space between tables. Staff were polite and helpful, and found us a suitable table with the pooches. Drinks arrived quickly and the starters came fairly soon. Mains took a little longer, but our waitress kept us updated without being asked. Thanks to Georgia for that. We passed the time chatting with other diners and locals. It was a great place to stop. I can imagine it gets very busy and popular in summer, so booking ahead may be a good idea. Highly recommended.

The food was amazing at every meal I had, lunch, dinner, and breakfast, and the service was outstanding. The locals were lovely too. Everyone I met was so welcoming, which made it easy to take my time, read, and properly unwind. I messaged ahead to ask about having a bath in my room. I was told I would need to upgrade, but since it was so quiet, the team upgraded me for free. Such a kind touch. The room was massive, the bathroom huge, and the whole place felt divine. It was just right for a quiet 24-hour reset. I had the loveliest overnight stay at the Ashford Arms Hotel near Bakewell and will definitely be back soon.

The restaurant food was tasty and nicely presented, with an interesting menu. The rooms were lovely too, with good bed linen, a comfortable bed, and everything you might need for a couple of days. The staff were friendly and professional all the way from check-in to the bar, dining service, and housekeeping. Their smiles, local knowledge, and personal touch made us feel very welcome. A fantastic small hotel and bar in one of the Peak District's prettiest villages.

We came for Sunday roast with my daughter and had a lovely experience. The food was beautiful, but the service from every staff member was what really stood out. Hospitality at its best. Thank you to everyone working on the afternoon of 4th Jan. You were the best, and you should be very proud.

The portions were generous, and this may be the best Sunday roast I've ever had. We were welcomed as soon as we came through the door and the service was top notch. Special thanks to Eve. We'll be back!
