Water's Edge Glenarm

The veg square with fresh basil pesto was tasty, though it arrived cold, which I hadn't expected. My filter coffee was a bit thin, with grounds at the bottom of the cup. There was a lovely eating area behind the building, plus a few tables out front with a lovely sea view. We visited on the first day you could eat and drink outside during lockdown. We got a very warm welcome, and there's lots of new work going on, so I'll be back. I recommend giving these guys a try.

There were plenty of sweet treats, including vegan and gluten free choices, and the light bites had a reasonable range too. Coffee options included the usual espresso drinks and filter coffee from an Antrim-based supplier. I liked seeing bamboo cutlery while everything has to be single use. The outdoor seating is well maintained and adapted for covid regulations. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is locally sourced and freshly prepared on site. Herbs, figs and olives are growing there, and the space feels warm and comfortable in the sun. There's a wall-mounted heater for less clement weather. This beautiful cafe is still expanding and could become a lovely evening meeting place, though it currently closes at 4pm. Worth a visit for refreshments before heading further round our beautiful coast.

We stopped at the Café @ the Water's Edge during a Saturday afternoon drive up the coast. My husband and I had a late lunch of Roast Red Pepper soup with a wheaten scone, and it was delicious. The specials board had several dishes to choose from as well. It's a lovely bright little coffee shop with teas, coffees, cakes and bakes, plus a good choice of light lunches. Well worth a visit for the tasty food and breathtaking views.

Jenny and her colleague were friendly and really helpful with local information. We had lovely coffee and cinnamon orange cake :) in the garden cafe. It's a really clean place, and everything was nicely presented. Thanks, Jenny, and wishing you continued success with your business.
