The Stag Hotel

We picked this hotel for its spot on the main street, with shops nearby, a supermarket across the road and the bus stopping right outside. The rooms are set further back, so the pub noise barely carries through. They were spacious, cosy and clean, and freshly made up each day. We stayed four nights and felt completely comfortable. We come to Banchory often, but this was our first hotel stay here. The building is beautiful and deserves more stars. Our schedule was too tight to try the pub, though it was busy and looked inviting every evening. Next time, we'll definitely have a drink or meal there. I'd happily stay here again. Thanks for a great visit!

The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds, and they're perfectly OK. But if a good night's sleep matters, be aware that the pub downstairs is noisy on weekdays as well as weekends.

Just moved to town, so I haven't tried the food yet. The pint was cracking, though, and the atmosphere is friendly. Best pub around.

Cosy spot with a log burner glowing, refreshing drinks, and friendly locals. The bar staff were helpful too, and dogs are welcome 😀
