We were in the area for the St Ayles Skiff event, the "5 Harbour Row" from Portsoy to Findochty, and Driftwood made a lovely home from home. It's well placed by the harbour and coastal path. The garden has several terraces, with a particularly nice dining spot on the decking beside the sun house at the top. We watched the sunset over the Moray Firth from there.

We spent Christmas at Driftwood hoping for a quiet break, and felt settled from the moment we arrived. It's warm, well located, and the owners have thought of everything, with a lovely welcome pack and lots of help. Our dog was happy there too. There are short and longer walks nearby, plus a good supermarket, excellent takeaways for days you don't want to cook, and a welcoming church just minutes away. We hope to come back, maybe in summer to enjoy the garden and views more.

Driftwood Cottage was quiet and comfortable despite being in town, with a quirky, fun, homely feel. Wendy clearly knows how to prepare a place for visitors. She told me she stays at her properties herself to see what's needed, and you can tell from all the thoughtful provisions, right down to the small things. I spent my days out, though there was plenty to do if I'd needed to stay in. The upstairs area for children and the shed at the bottom of the garden both looked lovely. I'd recommend it for anyone from a solo visitor to a family with young children. If her other properties are up to the same standard, I'd happily stay in one. I've already got one in mind for a future Scotland trip.

The local area was lovely, and all of us felt comfortable and welcome. I came with my mom and dad on my first trip to Scotland, and we loved the place so much I didn't want to leave. I haven't been able to properly relax in a long time. We've already booked another stay for next year :)

Everything you'd need is within walking distance from this beautiful cottage. It's well suited to children and welcomes dogs too. I'd definitely recommend it.
