Peter even drove us back to the Way so we could carry on walking. After our 18-mile day on the Pennine Way with our two dogs, we'd been expecting to walk the extra bit from the Way to the farm, but Peter spotted us coming and was waiting by the road to give us a lift. Tea and cakes were ready when we arrived, and the rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable, with immaculate en-suites. We'd booked dinner, and Peter and Carol joined us for three courses, plus a complimentary beer. I could barely move afterwards, and it wasn't just from the walk! Breakfast was lovely too, with loads of food. The hosts clearly enjoy meeting and helping their guests and couldn't do enough for us. Easily the best B&B I've stayed in, a real five-star stay.

Carole's arrival pastries were wonderful, and her Shepherd's pie was the best I've ever had. Pete's cooked breakfast the next morning was just as impressive. The ingredients were locally sourced, and everything was made with real care. The food and the hosts alone make this place special. Hunter House Farm is beautifully converted and carefully restored, right on the Penine way. The location is fantastic, the setting is serene, and nothing was too much trouble for Carole and Pete. It has to be one of the best B&Bs in the United Kingdom. I can't wait to return with my family. If you like a bit of luxury in peaceful surroundings, you won't be disappointed.

The shower was seriously high-tech, with the strongest water pressure I've had anywhere in the Pennines. Rose and fruit jelly was marvellous, and there was plenty of delicious food and drink. The accommodation is modern, and Peter and Carol are excellent hosts.

I'd go out of my way to stay here again. I rarely choose B&Bs, but I can't imagine many being as good as this one. Carole and Pete were always ready to help, and I felt more welcome here than anywhere else. My dog did too! I was stopping for a rest day on the Pennine Way. The rooms were fantastic, the beds comfortable and the showers incredible. Both dinner and breakfast were the best I've had.

The hosts went out of their way to make everything comfortable and a little luxurious. Their home cooking was lovely, too. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.
