Shepherds Hut

We spent a week here in October and had a lovely stay. The weather was great, and the cottage had plenty of board games, books, music and DVDs for when we were in. The beds were some of the comfiest I’ve slept in away from home. We also loved star gazing from the hot tub in the evenings. There was loads of room to cook, eat and spend time together, and the kitchen was well equipped. We found the cottage information book helpful too. As a three generation family, we enjoyed short drives to Locomotion, Beamish, Raby Castle and deer park, Barnard Castle, Eggleston Abbey, and the High and Low Force waterfalls.

Such a beautiful place for a family holiday, with gorgeous views and plenty of games for grown-ups and kids. We especially loved the barn with its ping pong table. Would definitely recommend it and come back.

The shepherd’s hut had everything we needed, and the setting was peaceful and beautiful. We spent three nights here and couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

A comfortable, homely place to stay, and great for a family gathering. We had fun here and would definitely come back.
