The rooms were nice, but I had a really upsetting experience. My mum was having a mental breakdown, so I filed a missing person report and went looking for her. The police found her here. While I waited for her at the bar, I heard a woman, who I think was the cleaner, on the other side talking and laughing about Mum. It felt really disrespectful and made an already hard situation much worse.

There’s usually a great atmosphere at The Star, with people singing karaoke, dancing, listening to good music and chatting. Lots of our friends treat it as their local, so we end up there often, and the regulars are lovely. Drinks are very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely keep spending time here.

The Star Hotel has such a friendly atmosphere, and the table service is absolutely spot on. The weekday meals are lovely, especially the gorgeous homemade chips, and the Sunday carvery is beautiful too. It’s a great place to be and I’d recommend it to anyone.
