Highfield House

We loved the garden at night, where we could look at the stars, and the countryside feel around the property. The room was really roomy, with the option to ask for an extra bed for our toddler. Little touches like fresh fruit, a French press and sockets in the room made the stay comfortable. Jaye and Keith were warm and helpful, sharing local information and travel tips. There’s a pub, community shop, café and playground close by. A very enjoyable visit.

Parracombe has a good pub serving lovely food, plus a community-run shop with a café. From this welcoming B&B, it's easy to head out for hilly country walks or take a short drive to the coast. The village is beautiful, and the hosts were lovely.

Heddon was such a welcome part of the stay. Mornings don’t feel the same without him coming over to say hello 🙂 We loved the place and Jaye and Keith were amazing, always happy to help. Our large room had a really comfortable super king bed. Breakfast was fresh and organic, with homemade bread and a different choice each day. It was self-service in the kitchenette outside our room, shared with just one other couple. A fantastic stay, and we hope to come back.

The lane has a slightly tight bend at the entrance that could be tricky in a large vehicle, and the outside steps down to the ground floor are quite steep. Once there, though, it was lovely and clean, with a friendly host and spacious rooms. The view was amazing, and it was so quiet you could hear the river and birds. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was continental, with fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt and homemade bread.
