Home Place Farm Cottages

A power cut hit the area one afternoon, and the hosts took such good care of us, bringing candles, duvets, boiling water and even some dinner. We felt very well looked after. My friends and I had a peaceful, relaxing three-night break in a cottage with a hot tub, exactly what we needed. The treatment therapist was fantastic and a real professional. This is a great place to get away from everything.

We stayed in Woodruff cottage for a week, and it was cosy for two, spotless and very peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped, and the hot tub was lovely for watching the stars. Richard and Kaye were relaxed, excellent hosts who were happy to cater to any need. There’s also a mini-spa on site that looked unique, though we didn’t get a chance to use it. Home Place Farm is in beautiful Challacombe, a little inland from the North Devon beaches. There’s not much nearby apart from a quaint pub about five minutes away, which is just what we wanted for a break from everything. Woolacombe and Ilfracombe are around a 20-25 minute drive, and there are dramatic walks in the area. I’d go back in a heartbeat and can’t wait to stay again.

Our three-bedroom cottage was just right for us, with comfortable, clean rooms and lovely grounds. Kaye and Richard have put together a great place, and the hot tub was excellent. We’d also highly recommend the pub at the top of the lane, just remember to book ahead.

The spa right next door was a great extra. I had a fantastic treatment and would definitely recommend it. Kaye and a Richard were wonderful hosts, and we’ll certainly visit again. The cottages were cosy and well suited to a family, in a beautiful, peaceful and wholesome area that’s ideal for a relaxing getaway.
