We found the room unclean, and the arrival was unpleasant too. We got there just before 11 p.m., with no check-in cutoff stated anywhere, yet the host spent five minutes scolding us. The following day our online booking was cancelled by the host, but we were still charged. It seemed likely this was to avoid fees from the booking platform. A very bad experience for us.

Breakfast was outstanding, and Rachel even gave me a bottle of Pomegranate Shower Gel to take home after I mentioned how nice it was. I spent two nights at this lovely guest house, where Rachel and Wayne were so welcoming and accommodating. They couldn't do enough for me. I'll definitely stay again on my next trip up to the Lakes. Thank you both so much, Carole Brown.

We had a great stay, with clean, pleasant rooms, enormous breakfasts and first-class hosts. My wife and I are Canadian, and we were here for almost three weeks while she was in hospital a couple of kilometers down the road. Rachel and Wayne were fabulous, helping us in every way and taking a real interest in how we were getting on with the UK NHS. Thank you both so much. I can't recommend East Mount House highly enough.

The rooms were very clean and well looked after, and we enjoyed the breakfast and friendly hosts. It's a quiet spot with lots of restaurants nearby. The charges for services, though, weren't clearly listed.

The owner was kind enough to let me in well before check-in, which I really appreciated 🙏. It's an affordable place in a suitable location. Cleanliness could use a little more attention, but otherwise it's an absolutely brilliant place to stay.
