The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room's bedding was clean, at least, but it smelled of cigarettes. The TV didn't work, and the shower was too hot to use. This hotel badly needs repairs, and the restaurant looked condemned, with flies everywhere.

Booked at very short notice this week and got a twin room for two for £50, including bed and breakfast. On arrival we were offered a complimentary drink at the bar, a nice touch, so my work colleague and I had a pint of lager each. The staff were friendly, breakfast was a very good full English, and I thought the hotel was good value for money.

The staff really went out of their way to help, even upgrading my single room to a double, which was a nice touch. I stayed four nights. Meals were huge, and the bar had a good atmosphere when I went in to watch the football. Good value for the price.

The room was basic, with a view over the rooftops towards the port, and the hotel is still being renovated. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It should be even better once the renovations are finished.

It's in an unusual dockside spot serving the local housing, so it's not really somewhere you'd stumble across by accident. Inside, it was more modern than I expected from the outside and location. No cask ales, but the staff were friendly enough. It was lively even at Monday lunchtime, with the music turned up loud. If I pass by again, I'd go in.
