I stayed on 28th Feb and couldn't fault the hotel. It was a good experience all round, as I've come to expect from premier inn. The woman at reception made it even better. She was warm and attentive, and especially lovely to my granddaughter, complimenting her sparkly headband. We hadn't booked dinner and the restaurant was full, but she went over and managed to request a table for us. She was just as warm when we checked out and made my granddaughter's day. That's real customer service, and she's a credit to the hotel. Thank you.

Breakfast had a good range, and everything was fresh and well stocked. Check-in was quick, and the staff were welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and looked after. I slept really well in the cosy bed, and there was everything you'd expect, including tea and coffee and a clean, spacious bathroom. There wasn't much nearby to shop or do, so the location was average, about 3 stars. Still, it was a comfortable, reliable stay. I'd come back.

The room was basic but clean, with tea and coffee, a kettle, hairdryer, and complimentary shampoo and body wash. Reception was friendly and efficient, and the hotel was well lit. Breakfast the next morning was simple, just fruit, cereal and croissants, and cost a bit more than I wanted to pay. We were a captive audience. A friend and I stayed last month to be near the hospital and enjoyed our visit. We arrived as the restaurant next door was closing and weren't happy there was no dinner available, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Get there before 9 pm! The one real annoyance was losing £2 to the reception vending machine, which took my money and gave me nothing. In my experience this happens with at least half of all vending machines, despite my promise to myself not to use them. Reception couldn't help, since the machine doesn't belong to Premier Inn. It was a good stay overall, and I'd stay there again if I were in Basingstoke.

I got great service when I arrived, but barely slept. Local car enthusiasts seem to meet close to the accommodation and rev their exhausts until after 02:30. Then drilling for maintenance started at 09:00 on Sunday, which at least got me up in time for breakfast.

Parking was easy, and getting in and out of Basingstoke was straightforward. The staff were friendly and polite, and check-in was calm and easy. My room was quiet, very clean and well kept, with a super comfortable bed. I slept well after a long day of driving and work. For the price, Premier Inn Basingstoke West gave me the comfort and peace of mind I wanted. I'd gladly stay again and recommend it to visitors to the area.
