The hosts made the stay feel easy and reassuring. They explained everything clearly and were lovely throughout, and it was obvious they cared about us feeling looked after. The key box also meant we could come and go without hassle. The room was modern and high-tech but still cosy, and it was spotless. Having a little kitchen area with a fridge, water and milk was a really nice extra. The location worked well too, close enough to walk back from town, with shops nearby and good parking. Wessex House Hotel was better than we expected, and we’d absolutely stay again.

We booked at short notice for a work stay, and the after-hours booking came with clear entry instructions by text. The room was clean and had what we needed for a night, including a toaster and microwave. It was a little cosy for two blokes sharing a bed, but would be perfect for a couple. We found it through Lastminute.com, which saved us trouble, and the price was reasonable. Having been scammed before by places that didn’t exist after payment, I can reassure anyone wondering that this place is real and worth an overnight stay. I spoke to one of the owners in the morning too, and she was very nice. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely stay here.

The room has modern tech and is well equipped, and the bathroom is better than most. The hotel is brilliant, and the driveway is spacious, though I know from experience that a bus won’t fit.

I came from London for work and stayed here on Friday night. I accidentally left my bag in the room, with my expensive trainers inside. I’ve tried contacting the owner several times but haven’t had a response.

The cleanliness was top notch, and I didn’t find a single thing to complain about. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you’d need for either a short or long stay. I highly recommend Wessex House.
