Francis Hotel Bath

We had breakfast and dinner at The Francis Hotel, and both meals were beautifully presented by very pleasant serving staff. The food was delicious, especially dinner. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and we felt welcome and at ease. The location was ideal for seeing Bath's landmarks. The hotel impressed us with its facilities, cleanliness and attentive staff. Our room was spacious and clean, with complimentary items in the fridge and a nice selection of tea and coffee. We knew from the moment we arrived that we'd chosen well. We'd love to come back and have already recommended the hotel to friends and family. Thanks to The Francis Hotel and all the staff for making our trip with a close friend a highlight of the holiday.

The staff deserve a big shout out. Everyone we dealt with was professional and courteous, and went out of their way to help make the stay enjoyable. We were celebrating my 60th birthday, and after my wife let them know, we found bubbly and chocolates in our room. Such a thoughtful surprise. My wife and I had a wonderful couple of nights at the Francis. The rooms are well furnished, especially the bathrooms, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The media selection was excellent and easy to navigate. Breakfast in the restaurant was high quality with plenty of choice. We'll try the evening menu next time. Very happy to recommend the hotel, and we'll definitely return.

The hotel and restaurant staff were all so friendly, and the quality was superb. It's easy to walk into Bath from this fantastic location and see the main sights. When the hotel car park is full, you may need to use the public car park, about a five-minute walk away. The staff took our bags to our room while we went to park, so it all worked out fine.

The room was very nice, though a little small, and the public areas were immaculate. Reception, bar and restaurant staff were all great. We didn't dine in, but breakfast was excellent, even if it took about 15 minutes to poach two eggs. One thing niggled: at checkout, we were told there was a "discretionary" service charge due, even though the room was paid in advance. Neither my wife, who works in business travel and travels extensively, nor I had come across this practice before. We politely declined.
