The staff we met were genuinely lovely. When a third-party booking site failed to reserve a room for one of our group, a staff member stayed late to help us despite our delay. The hotel was full the next night, but he also found an AirBNB for our displaced friends. Breakfast was another bright spot, with an excellent hot meal each morning, and the bus stop just a few hundred yards away made getting into the city easy. The building itself needs a lot of care. Our room was tiny and nothing like the online photos, the bed and pillows were worn, and we slept badly. There was a stained ceiling, loose plaster, a broken TV, a wardrobe door nearly coming off, and a bathroom extractor that didn't work. The hotel has the potential to be lovely, but it needs a makeover. Heating and a TV would make the residents' lounge more inviting, and the rubble in the garden needs clearing.

The location was handy, not far from the main part of the city, and we had a lovely summer stay. After we left, we realized we'd forgotten our adapter. One quick call was all it took for the kind, helpful staff to send it straight to us. It really saved our holiday.

I've come back several times because I really like this place. For Bath, the price is very reasonable, and having a car park is a real bonus when parking in town is such a nightmare. It's about two miles from the centre, but a taxi makes it easy to avoid parking and congestion charges. The decor is a little tired, though the old building has kept much of its character and has everything you need. There's no reception, but the young man who runs the place is available whenever you need something. Breakfast is lovely too. I love this place x

The parking was plentiful and close to where we needed to be, and the morning server was lovely. Breakfast was enjoyable too, which made the rest of the stay all the more disappointing. The place is old and dated, with bare, dirty carpets and lots of dust on top of the bed. The bed was made from two mattresses and had no support. Contact before arrival was awful. It was too automated and AI-driven. I was told to book in ahead of the visit, but after several messages from an unmanned property I still had no answers. I won't be back.

The outside doesn't make much of an impression, but the beauty shows once you're inside. We had a lovely garden-view room with a giant four-poster bed, and the staff were more than friendly and really helpful. The location worked well too: buses into Bath stop just a few metres up the road, and the ride takes about ten minutes.
