The gardens are ample, there’s parking on site, and the rooms are lovely and clean. Breakfast is continental with lots of choice, while the cooked option costs extra but is worth it. There’s a relaxing lounge where they serve a range of drinks in crystal glasses. A little way outside Bath centre, but two buses get you into town in 10-15 minutes. Well worth every penny.

The food is excellent, the staff are attentive and the place is spotlessly clean. It seems to command a decent price for the rooms, and the hotel was full of happy customers. But although the sign outside calls it a 5 star boutique hotel, I’d call it the world’s best B&B. There are three room grades, based on bed size, and we chose the middle one. At 6 ft 2 in, I couldn’t stand up to use the loo in the very small bathroom, and there wasn’t much hanging space. When we got back around midnight, the bar was closed, so there was no option for a nightcap. Those things may not matter to you.

Sue and her staff do a great job. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, varied and thoughtfully handled for different diets. We had an excellent stay.

I only stayed one night, but I was really happy I chose this place. The room was lovely and clean, and the staff were very nice. I’d consider staying here again if I’m in Bath.
