The historic building has loads of character, and our bedroom was clean and tidy. It's right across from the train station and an easy walk into Bath. We chose the hotel because it has parking for six cars in a nearby car park, but you do need to book a space. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout. We had two evening meals, both excellent, and breakfast was very good too, with a varied cooked selection including pancakes. We'd stay here again.

The Boxing Day coach trip was a lovely extra from the hotel. We missed it when we stayed four years ago because of covid, so it was nice to get it this time, and the guide was funny and informative. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed, plus more. The food was superb and plentiful, though the wait between starter and main on Christmas Day was a bit long. In the end it was worth it. The staff were polite and courteous, especially Angela on reception, along with the restaurant team and the bartender whose name I didn't catch. Thanks to everyone who worked over Christmas and served us, it really means a lot. We hope to return sometime in 2026.

The room felt a little dated and showed wear in places, which seems reflected in the price, so I can't really complain. Still, it had modern conveniences including a flat-screen TV, iPod dock, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities. The bedding was a treat, with Merino wool blankets, goose feather pillows, and Egyptian cotton linens. Breakfast was hearty, and I liked the proper tea setup with a pot and strainer. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, and there’s 24-hour reception, room service, and baggage storage. We booked a large double for a weekend with family. The Royal Hotel is directly opposite Bath Spa station, and the central spot makes it easy to walk to the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and other sights. It's a Grade II listed Victorian building designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, with lots of historic character, cosy lounges, and a Parisian-style brasserie. The main downsides were noise from nearby transport and people leaving night clubs, and the rooms could use updating.

Staff were very, very friendly, and room service was perfect. They left water and treats every day. Breakfast was very good too. The hotel is right across from the train station and close to all the main attractions. Thumbs up from me.

It felt like home, and we'd definitely come back. Our room was quiet, bigger than rooms we've had in London, and we slept really well. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with amazing service. In the evening, Ryan and David were delightful to chat with at the bar over a nightcap. Housekeeping were friendly and checked that we had everything we needed, while the front desk staff were lovely and gave us great restaurant and shopping recommendations. The train station is just across the street.
