The Thief

My loft room got *extremely* hot, with no relief. I ended up taking a cold bath to cool down, and even a small fan would've helped. There was a coffee maker, but its water bin was dirty, and by then I'd more or less given up. The location is convenient, and the cute outdoor seating area between the two buildings has a lot of potential. They could make the place much better by taking a bit more care with the details.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and I liked the cool shabby chic look. Our loft 2 room smelled quite unpleasant and stayed cold, even with the radiator turned all the way up as soon as we arrived. Apart from that, it was a nice, pleasant stay.

The bed was the best part, very comfortable, and the pillows were good too. I had a great night's sleep. The hotel layout was lovely, with a nice little bar and a courtyard leading to the rooms. But it badly needs some care: the rooms need a deep clean, bathroom damp needs addressing, and the ceilings and walls need touching up. Storage was poor too, just a clothes rail with four hangers and no drawers. We stayed two nights in Bath. Our first room had a bathroom ceiling leak that looked as if it might fall through at any moment. They said they were fully booked and couldn't move us. After a 30-minute wait, my partner had to ask the bar worker to call the boss so she could speak to him directly. We were then moved to another, upgraded room that had just been cancelled. With some attention, this could be a great little no-frills find.

The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special. They helped my partner find a local florist and had the flowers and Prosecco he'd ordered for my birthday ready in the room when we arrived. The room was modern and spacious, and I really appreciated the Bluetooth speaker and coffee machine. It's also a great base for exploring Bath, and the gate made it easy to get back in after hours. I'd definitely stay again.
