The Abbey Hotel

That little drawer marked “forgotten something?” was a thoughtful touch. We realised we'd left our toothpaste at home, and it came in handy. Our room was clean, fresh and had everything else we needed. We stayed for one night over Easter and didn't hear any street noise from our room at the back. Breakfast was great, with generous portions cooked fresh, and the bar downstairs felt cosy and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay. I'd gladly recommend it and come back.

The portions were big and the food was top quality, so even though it is on the pricier side, we felt it was worth it. We went for lunch and really liked the welcoming atmosphere, spacious table and brilliant drink selection. The food was delicious. The woman running the pub was very friendly, and so was the woman behind the bar. We'll definitely be back.

We had a fabulous little getaway, with everything we needed and then some close at hand. The staff were helpful and friendly, and we'd definitely stay again. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can only speak to the room. It was very clean and comfortable, with bathrobes, a bath and a shower. The magnifying mirror was much appreciated, and there was plenty of tea and coffee, enough milk for both of us, plus hot chocolate. We weren't bothered by noise at all.

The Sunday roast was delicious and enormous. I had the large triple meat version, and unless you're very hungry or have a big appetite, that much food might go to waste. Highly recommend it.
