Dalegarth House

We booked Dalegarth at the last minute and are so glad we did. What a gem. The views are breathtaking, the rooms are beautifully decorated, extra warm and comfortable, and there were treats waiting on arrival. Breakfast was outstanding. The hosts are an amazing, friendly and accommodating couple. Thank you both for a fabulous stay. We can't wait to return. Paul and Gill.

Clare and Craig couldn't have been more helpful, and I had a wonderful stay with them. Breakfast was delicious, and they made my tea JUST the way I liked it! ;) I enjoyed a day on Coledale Horseshoe and a walk around Derwentwater. Thank you.

Keswick can get busy, so it was lovely to come back from a day out to a peaceful spot with views of the lake and fells. The lounge and bar were just the place to unwind, and the pheasants that regularly wandered by kept us entertained. Clare's flapjacks were amazing, and Craig's thoughtful wood sculptures gave us plenty to talk about, especially music. Clare and Craig make the place feel personal, and still have all the expected things covered, from cleanliness and amenities to breakfast. We'd definitely stay at Dalegarth again.

Craig was full of useful tips about the weather, nearby places to visit, local history and anything else we asked. He welcomed us warmly and made sure we had the information we needed. There was plenty of parking, with CCTV too, and homemade cakes waiting in reception. Dalegarth House is lovely to look at, with a beautiful garden and bird feeders that Craig and Clare keep stocked. The shared room felt warm and inviting, with books, games and photos of the house through the years. We also liked the wedding picture of Craig and Claire. The dining room was spotless and beautifully set, right down to the sparkling cutlery. Clare's breakfasts had great variety and quality, and she paid attention to what we liked and didn't like. Her hygiene standards were very professional. Our bedroom was lovely, with clean bedding, a comfortable mattress and pillows, immaculate hygiene, and stunning views from both windows. The bathroom was immaculate too. We found Dalegarth perfect for us. Don't forget to ask about Clare's book release, I'm looking forward to it!
