We ate here on Friday and Saturday night, and it’s great that they stay open late. The place looks fantastic, with fun design and a lively feel, and the cocktails were tasty. Most of the staff were really lovely and attentive, though one person working both nights kept ignoring my sister when she tried to order. On Friday they served several people at the bar before her, and on Saturday they avoided her so much that another staff member noticed and came back to take her order. The food is good for the price. The honey chilli sauce was quite different between the two nights: Friday’s was watery and tasted strongly of ketchup, while Saturday’s was darker, sticky like you’d expect, and much nicer. A really fun place overall.

The tables were clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had freshly cooked, authentic Chinese food with decent portions, and the Southside lager was delicious. The fortune cookie was a lovely nostalgic touch, as was the Lucky Duck decor, which reminded me of my youth. I’ll definitely be back, thanks!

We’ve been coming every week since July, and even after more than two years the staff are still friendly and the place is brilliant every time. The portions are just right, so we leave satisfied without feeling stuffed. There’s a great atmosphere because the Chinese restaurant is inside a bar, which makes for a pretty unique meal. They have their own beer on tap, Southside Lager, and it’s pretty good too. I’ve tried all the usual Chinese takeaway dishes here and they’re all pretty good. My favourite is the Salt and Chilli King Prawns with fried rice, though a pint or two helps with the spice. Prices are about what you’d expect at a restaurant or bar, and you can always stick around for another drink. Definitely worth a try.

We booked for birthday food and drinks after seeing good things on TikTok and social media, but Saturday night was completely dead and had no atmosphere at all, nothing like it looked online. The food was good, but £10 for a half-full spicy margarita is ridiculous. It was mediocre and disappointing. We won’t be back.

The beef curry at Lucky Duck was decent, though sweeter than I like, probably from too much sugar. I got it with chips, but they’re charged separately, so the total came to £15 and felt a bit overpriced. The takeaway carton was awkward too. Once I got home, I couldn’t pour the curry over the chips, which made the whole thing feel pointless.
