The ribeye with salad surprised me with its outstanding quality, and I ordered it both nights. Hamish at the pub really knows his stuff, and it was a pleasure meeting him. The pub is well stocked, including drinks you don't usually find in other pubs. The rooms are a mixed bag: some could use modernising, while others are completely outdated.

Breakfast was excellent, and the bed was comfortable. My room was clean, but it was quite cold. Since it faced the high street and had single-glazed windows, there was a lot of noise. The shower pressure was weak and its temperature swung between far too hot and freezing. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed, but it wasn't great either.

I was booked in for one night on a work trip. From my first contact with the lovely receptionist through to the delicious meal, attentive first-class service and nice atmosphere, it was a very good stay. Compliments to the chef. My room is clean and fresh, and I'd recommend the place without hesitation. ❤️

Took a friend here for a carvery and we had a great time. The food was wonderful, and the service was friendly, quick and helpful. I only wish I had room for more, but I filled my one stomach completely. I can really recommend this place.

We waited 15 minutes just to get a menu, then had to go ask for one ourselves. Another 10 minutes passed without anyone taking our order, so we went back to the bar. They said someone would take it at the table. After ordering, we waited another 15 minutes with no drinks, meaning a 35-minute wait in total. We ended up collecting them ourselves from the bar. The service is embarrassing for a place that wasn't even busy. I used to enjoy coming here, but the bar staff were so useless that I won't be back.
