We enjoyed our stay in this cosy, well equipped little lodge. There are DVDs for a rainy day if you've forgotten your book, though for films I'd suggest bringing a Firestick, Chrome cast or Roku HDMI stick. The fire comes with an initial supply of logs, and the broadband is good. A practical issue: the main bedroom's bed has a heavy frame at both ends, and in such a small room the footboard makes it hard to move around. Also, don't count on walking to the shop in Coldingham for papers. The route along the road is about 3.5 miles each way, with a winding downhill stretch, no path and regular traffic. There might be a shortcut we didn't find.

We really enjoyed our time in this lovely, peaceful lodge. The master bed was very uncomfortable, though, and needs a new mattress.
