The Heyford

The rooms are spacious, modern, clean and tidy, and the staff were really helpful. We enjoyed both breakfast and the evening menu, and bowling was a nice extra. It's about 20 minutes from clarkson farm and roughly the same from Bicester village. I saw a very entitled customer being rude to the evening receptionist. The gent handled it professionally and politely.

Jade, who served our family at the Baton, was so friendly, genuine and helpful. Our daughter liked her so much she said, “I wish she worked where we live!” The restaurant was amazing, and the room at the Hayford Hotel was super comfy and great value. We'd been to Blenheim Palace on a day trip before staying, and we're definitely planning to return.

Bowling was fun, and hotel guests get it at half price. Ryan and the other staff were friendly and attentive, and we made the most of the extensive festive menu with the food allowance included in the package. Some dishes had run out, but that didn't limit us. It was a much-needed break, and we loved the stay overall. We'd hoped for more luxury, as The Heyford advertises. Our double room with a balcony, the only one available, had some drawbacks for almost £300 a night. The large double didn't feel worth that rate, and the pretty, spacious bathroom was cold. Underfloor heating would've helped, the light sensor switched off at the wrong time, and a second sink would've been useful.

All those brilliant little food vans serving lovely homemade food are being pushed out just to protect your profits, leaving your terrible food and drinks as the only option around. Shutting down much-loved small family businesses is a disgusting way to operate, and anyone who uses this hotel should be ashamed. Take a look at yourselves. I wouldn't stay here if the choice were this place or a tent in a field in the middle of winter. Disgusting!
