The Grange

We stayed for a couple of nights in one of the smaller rooms, and everything was very clean. The building and garden looked beautiful from the decking, and the polite staff were really helpful. The soft double bed was very comfortable for a side sleeper. There’s a covered outdoor smoking area with cigarette end bins. Parking is a bit tight, but we managed easily in our family hatchback. I’d highly recommend this place when staying in Shanklin.

The sea and garden view from our room was lovely, and breakfast was spot on. We had a great two-night stay at The Grange. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was spotless. It’s about a five-minute walk to the seafront and only two minutes to the pubs and cafes. Glad we stayed, and we’d happily come back.

The grounds are lovely, and The Grange B&B is close to the beach. Staff were especially friendly, and breakfast was decent. The room, though, felt very tired and had the world’s smallest sink. There was no soap, which seemed odd in the Covid era, though luckily we’d brought our own. The car park may not fit everyone’s car if all the guests drive.

The garden gate opens onto Chine Avenue, which cuts a good part of the walk to the beach, and there’s a trust bar too. It’s not the cheapest place to stay in Shanklin, but it’s one of the best. The gardens are beautiful, and the central location makes the free parking handy. Spaces are tight if you have a large car.
